Since Bradford White water heaters have the magnesium anode built into the hot water outlet, we need to do a few extra steps to install a powered anode rod.

Here is one way you can install the Corro-Protec anode rod :

1. Remove the safety valve from the top of the tank.
2. Insert the Corro-Protec anode instead of the safety valve
3. put a Tee adapter on the water heater outlet
4. Add the safety valve to the top of the adapter and connect the outlet to the other end.

The safety valve is sometimes on the side of the tank. If this is your case, you will be able to install our products without problems, because the Corro-Protec anode can be installed both vertically and horizontally. If the anode is too long, you can bend it or cut it without affecting its performance.

Even if you install the Corro-Protec anode to eliminate sulfur odors in your hot water, you do not need to remove the magnesium anode.
