The anode rod in your Richmond water heater is located on top of your tank. When you are facing the front of your water heater, the sacrificial magnesium or aluminum anode is located at the back of the vent pipe. Refer to your water heater’s user guide for more information.

    There are 2 holes on top both covered by a white plastic cover. When cover is removed it is filled with Styrofoam on both holes. I cleaned out 1 and nothing. I’m scared to screw up my Sweetwater digging around some more.
    6g40 36f3 is my heaters model number.
    Pkease could you send me a video or picture of the process I am a first time home owner and dont wanna screw up
